To this day, I feel I owe so much to this band. My musical taste was born when I first heard this band at the age of eight. My older brothers grew up as teenagers in the 80s/early 90s and thanks to their musical guidance, I’ve grown into a cultivated musician. Ned’s Atomic Dustbin is one of the many inspirations to Blink-182 and with good reason. There really was no other band quite like Ned’s. One of the true alternative/grunge bands to ever take the stage. Growing up, I listened to so many amazing bands: Ned’s, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Moby, NoFX, Bad Religion, RATM, The Smiths, Minor Threat, Foo Fighters, blink-182, The Cure, Depeche Mode, The Doors, Sublime, and so many others. I was fed alternative/grunge/punk rock music since my childhood, and while I understand that music is a constant, evolving entity, there really was nothing quite like that specific era.

I have to be honest; I miss the days when I’d wake up for school, turn on MTV and watch hours of GOOD music videos. I’d skip out on MTV when I came home, because I hated TRL and Carson Daly, but it was all good. They’d give better music videos later on. Or when KROQ 106.7 was filled with alternative hits.

What the fuck’s on MTV nowadays? Teen Mom? Sixteen and fucked up? The Real Bullshit? It’s a goddamn waste of airtime. All of it.

I digress.

Point is: The above video is a symbol of my childhood musical education.
